Hi, I’m Song. I live in Korea, and I started Korea by Song to share what I’d want a friend visiting here to know.
There’s plenty of information about Korea online. But it can still be hard to tell whether a place is worth a detour, what to order when you get there, or how to get back to your hotel afterward. Those are the kinds of questions I want to help with.
You’ll find guides to food, neighborhoods, shopping, and everyday life in Korea, along with practical help for getting around. I also want to explain the little things that can be confusing when you’re new here, even if they seem obvious to someone who lives here.
For anything I recommend, I want to give you enough context to decide for yourself. What’s good about it? What might you dislike? A place can be popular for a reason and still be somewhere you’d rather skip.
A note on the guides
I use official sources to check practical details where possible. Prices and opening hours can change, so check the linked source before making a special trip.
I’ll make it clear when I’m writing from personal experience and when a guide is based on research. Song’s Local Note is where I add local context that might help things make more sense.
I hope this site helps you find a few places you’re glad you visited, try something unfamiliar, and feel a little more at home here.
Like having a friend in Korea.
